Many people suffer from food cravings at times when they have a strong feeling. Other history report feeling criticized and condemned by important others for their choices or how they look, eat or feel. Feelings of shame and guilt about eating behavior, appearance or perceived lack of control are also common people. Others report anger and annoyance that a feature they want, they have to eat differently to others and feel deprived (violence / not normal). Many are afraid to change their shape because it has helped them to hide or protect them from harm or intimacy. Many have tried to change their shape so often that they do not believe they can succeed, or feel undeserving successful because they have a deeper sense of unworthiness.

Emotional Eating

Emotional eating is the practice of consuming quantities of food – usually “comfort” or junk foods – in response to feelings instead of hunger. Experts estimate that 75% of overeating is caused by emotions. Many of us learn that food can bring comfort, at least in the short term. Therefore, we seek often to food to heal emotional problems or take away the discomfort. Eat self soothe becomes a habit that prevents us from learning skills that can effectively resolve our emotional distress.

Depression, boredom, loneliness, chronic anger, anxiety, frustration, stress, problems with interpersonal relationships and poor self-image can lead to overeating and unwanted weight gain. There are 2 types of emotional eating where people participate

1. Deprivation sensitive binge eating, seems to be the result of weight loss diet or periods of restrictive eating (dieters Yoyo)

2. Addictive or dissociative binge eating (? Have you ever eaten whole pack of something, before you realized it was gone) process of self-medicating or self-soothing with food unrelated previous Limit

that identify what triggers emotional eating, we can substitute more appropriate strategies to manage our emotional problems and take food and weight gain out of the equation. Situations and feelings that trigger us to eat fall into five broad categories:

1. Social. Eating when around people. For example, excessive eating can result from encouraged by others to eat; eat to fit in; arguing; or feelings of inadequacy around other people.

2. Emotionally. Eating in response to boredom, stress, fatigue, tension, depression, anger, anxiety, loneliness as a way to “fill the void” or to respond to the emotions caused by memories of previous negative experiences.

3. Situational. Eating because the opportunity is there. For example, in a restaurant, see an ad for a particular food, passing by a bakery. Eating can also be associated with certain activities, such as watching television, going to the movies or a sporting event.

4. Thoughts. Eat due to negative self-esteem or excuses for eating. For example, scolding himself for appearance or lack of will power.

5. Physiological. Eating in response to physical cues. For example, increased hunger due to skipping meals or eating to cure headaches or other pain

Some useful questions to ask yourself that may help you find some of your views or concerns are .:

• Remember the times you ashamed of your body or had other people say things about you that you felt ashamed?

• When was the last time you were on the goal weight / shape? What was happening at the time?

• What beliefs about overweight people? What were the attitudes of significant others about overweight people?

• What patterns in the family for food? Was used to show love or punishment?

• What statements you say to yourself that are self-defeating, insensitive and keep you from getting what you want. Some examples are:

Read these questions out loud then sit quietly and listen to what you say to yourself. Write down the answers. Remember that you are honest with your thoughts and feelings, the deeper changes that you are able to achieve.

Recent studies Tackling food cravings

In a recent randomized clinical trial tested whether The Emotional! Freedom Technique (EFT) could reduce food cravings in participants under laboratory-controlled. Ninety-six overweight or obese adults who were posted at the EFT treatment or 4-week waitlist condition. The waitlist condition received treatment after the testing process. Who is Responsible for the health crisis in America? Is it the government? The state of the economy? Parents? Schools? What about you and me? Restaurants? Grocery stores? Or is it our busy schedules? How about Those get-togethers and Parties you attend? Maybe the Presented food choices are to blame. Yes! “Blame.” That is the word I was looking for! We are looking for someone or some institution to blame for our health crisis.


Is there a government Conspiracy? If so, just WHO are the conspirators? Let us get one thing straight. You and I do not need anyone’s help in Creating a health crisis. There is a reason for this. You and I are the greatest conspirators of our own lives. We have received more than enough information to let us know what to do to our health and ENHANCE Yet we, in Many cases, do not act and make the changes. I think That clarifies the Conspiracy Theory in a Nutshell. When I speak of this health crisis, I am not talking about medical insurance or medical costs or treatment. True, this is an Important issue. Howeverwhole, this issue only Touches on the surface of the problem. How we think, eat and live is the real cause. So who or what is Responsible? Do you have an idea? Who is the villain or culprit?

YOU ARE Responsible For Your Health

You are Personally Responsible for all the decisions you make. Do not blame Any institution or anyone else for your poor choices That lead to disease, illness and poor health.


What has caused America to fall so far behind the statistics on Longevity in the world? The ranking went from 11th to 42d. Americans do live longer, but not as long as 41 other countries, according to the National Center on Health Statistics. Why is one of the richest countries in the world not Able to keep up with other countries? Some say it is Because the United States has no universal health care. I do not see That as the primary reason since we have never had universal health care. Here is what I think are some of the primary Reasons for this trend:

  • Adults in the United States have one of the Highest obesity rates in the world. One third of US adults 20 years and older are obese and about two third are overweight, according to the National Center for Health Statistics.

  • Americans are extremely sedentary in their lifestyles.

  • Americans do not exercise at all or very little.

  • Americans eat too much and They eat too much processed foods, sugar and fat.

  • As long as the health care Debate is limited to insurance, the health of Americans will not Improve.


Kids sometimes Will do the craziest things. Once upon a time, there were two brothers. We will call themself Sam and Jake. As school-aged brothers, Sam challenged Jake to climb a tree, and so he does. Then Jake is challenged, on a dare, to go farther out on a long, thin branch of the tree. He gets about half way out beforehand the limb breaks, and he comes falling to the earth with a thump. Jake broke his nose and got some cuts and bruises. Both kids report to Their mother and of course Mom asks Jake, “How did this happen?” Jake RESPOND, “Sam made me do it!”

There are Many complaints I hear about All That enticing processed food in the grocery stores. There are remarks about the special challenge of eating out: The portion sizes are too big, and there are all Those irresistible, unhealthy “choices” available. I see no difference between Jake’s response and complaining These adults’ reactions to Their plight – or, Should I say, dilemma. Jake said, “Sam made me do it.” Translation: Sam ábyrgà Jake’s poor decisionmaking to go out on a limb. That is nonsense. Jake ábyrgà his own decisionmaking to go out on a limb. We adults are too frequently “going out on a limb” with our health by making poor choices while laying the blame on external Circumstances or institutions – Whether commercial, social, or governmental. Such ceasefire with thoughts of Blaming external Circumstances or other people. Take charge. Be accountable for your own actions.


Are our institutions off the hook When it becomes to Responsibility? No, They are not. I use the term “institution” in a broad sense, to include the Following:

  • Teachers and school boards

  • Physicians, Dentists, Nurses

  • Journalists, press and media

  • CEO’s and corporate Shareholders

  • Restaurateurs, marketers

  • School cafeterias

  • Parents and caregivers

Our institutions have the special Responsibility to “walk the talk,” clarify the goals of health and fitness, and assume a more visionary role to set and implementable standards for a solution to our health crisis. Our institutions are morally obligated to set the example by living by the Higher standard required of themself as leaders. This Can be accomplished through Legislation, executive orders and Both internal and public policy making. Our institutions need to deal with the problem directly and use special Their Influence to save lives and preventions suffering.


Health insurance will not accomplish this. Are you looking for true medical insurance? Schools need to go beyond mere curriculum, to Consider the whole child, setting improved fitness and healthy eating as a priority. Fitness and healthy eating shouldnt be a part of the curriculum, as They play a major role in the development of a child.


Teachers are role models and leaders When it comes to eating and exercise habits and how They portrays Their attitudes about fitness and health in school. John Maxwell define leadership as “Influence – nothing more, nothing less.” Moving beyond the position of the teacher to assessing the portability of the teacher to Influence others as a leader is essential. This & quot; refers to Those WHO would Consider Themselves followers, and Those That outside circle.

Leadership build character, Because without maintaining integrity and trust worthiness, the Capability to positively Influence Will disappear. There are Many other definitions of leadership. How to calculate the risk of breast cancer


Using the known risk factors for breast cancer, mathematical models can be developed to help answer important questions. These mathematical models are useful tools for researchers and patients as follows:

1. Research on risk factors – The Claus risk assessment model was used to detect subgroup who had inherited dominant genetic allele that increased their risk by 10% to 92%. This led to the discovery of BRCA genes associated with breast, ovarian, and prostate cancer.

where chemoprevention was shown to reduce the risk of breast cancer.

3. Guidelines for doing BRCA testing – BRCA testing is very expensive and practically worthless if done at all (because it’s so rare to be homozygous for BRCA1 or BRCA2). Mathematical models such BRCAPRO, BOADICEA and Tyrer-Cuzick model can help determine which patients should undergo BRCA testing. The decision to test is usually done when one of these models predicts a 10% or greater probability that there is a mutation in BRCA1, BRCA2, or both genes.

4. Guidelines for doing MRI screening for breast cancer – MRI screening for breast cancer is not cost effective screening for the public, but in special populations, there are clear reasons cut to do it. Gail Model :. The Gail model is a validated risk assessment model that focuses primarily on nonhereditary risk factors, with limited information on genealogy. It was developed by researchers at the National Cancer Institute and the National Surgical Adjuvant treatment Breast and bowel Project (NSABP) to assist health care providers in discussing breast cancer risk to determine their eligibility for the Breast Cancer Prevention Trial. The tool allows one to shed a unique plan woman’s risk of breast cancer over five years and over a lifetime. It compares the risk premium for the calculation of the average woman’s risk of a woman of the same age. The Gail Model is in line quiz has 13 questions and is interactive. This calculator is based on published risk statistics and methods gathered from peer-reviewed journals, and has been extensively tested for its validity.

The major limitation Gail model is the inclusion of only first-degree relatives, which results in an underestimation of risk in 50% of families with cancer analyzes lineage and also takes no account of the age of onset of breast cancer. What is the best way to help the patient accurately assess the risk of her breast and, if possible, to show her what positive factors are reducing risk, and what negative factors can change to reduce the risk of her? If possible, it would also be great to show the patient and indications for testing, imaging, chemoprevention, and in some cases surgery.
